Experience Horse Fair from the inside. Illinois Horse Fair 2017 has a volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. Illinois Horse Fair 2017 has set aside funding for charitable donations for volunteer support in this cooperative effort, making a donation of $25 for each shift filled and completed. IHF2017 is looking to fill 160 shifts over the weekend. To gain the donation, we ask that your group schedule and cover at least ten (10) shifts. The volunteer shifts are 3.0 to 3.5 hour periods of time, with the shifts being:
We also have opportunities on Wednesday and Thursday (March 1st & 2nd) for 3 hour shifts to help with set up and check in. All volunteers must sign in and out on an a Volunteer Sign in Sheet in our volunteer check-in location in building B26. We have a Volunteer and Sponsor Hospitality Room in Barn 26 for volunteers to train and get a bite to eat, and will be serving breakfast, lunch and snacks. After their shift, volunteers are welcome to stay at Illinois Horse Fair and enjoy the activities, or we can provide a pass for them to come back the next day. Volunteers are welcome to work multiple days, though we request that they be over 16 years of age or accompanied by an adult. If you are applying for the donation to your group we encourage volunteers to wear the gear that supports their mission, and groups filling 10 or more shifts are welcome to hang promotional banners in the Livestock Center and B13 arenas to help convey their mission, location and message. HCI/IHF2017 will provide the donation to your group prior to April 1, 2017 in support of your mission. To sign up for shifts names and phone numbers must be provided.
